Even though Carrier is credited with inventing the first system, they have continually led the industry and maintained their number one status. They introduced Puron® and the rest of the industry followed their lead. It’s funny how when Carrier first came out with R-420a refrigerant and said that this would be the refrigerant of the future, most other manufactures came out with “white papers” saying why it would not and they were not changing. Now with the phase out year, 2010, for R-22  all manufactures are using R-410a as their refrigerant of choice.
