Air Balancing

How do you balance something you cannot see?

By taking Static Pressure measurements and using Certified Calibrated instruments to measure the amount and velocity of air coming out of a register. Almost all commercial buildings have their HVAC systems balanced as part of the start of a new system. Until recently this has not been available to a home owner at a reasonable cost.

Edens Heating and Air Conditioning has certified light commercial and residential air balancers on staff with Calibrated equipment that can show  how much air is being wasted in your system. The average system is only delivering 60 to 65% of its rated capacity. This statistic is from the EPA’s web site.

We ask that one of the home owners go with us on initial inspection and help measure air flow so that we can explain what needs to be done. The average cost for initial measurement and written recommendation is $225 and will take from 2 to 4 hours. If you decide to go with our proposal then ½ of the initial measurement cost will be applied toward the proposal.

If we measure your system and go with our recommendation to balance the system we guarantee to be within 10% of our stated goal or it’s free.

We always take measurements starting a job and upon completion so you can see firsthand the results and know that you are getting what you ordered.
