Great news! We have instock the NEST thermostat.

It is a learning thermostat. The EPA eliminated the Energy Star rebates on programable thermostats because it found out that only 11% are successfully programmed to save energy. The nest will learn your living habits for the first week and then program itself to save you energy!

It is wi-fi capable so you can check temperture from your I-phone, I-pad or on line. Coming home earlier than normal? go online and the house will be warm when you get there. With the wi fi enabled you can chart your actual energy savings. It lets you know when you are saving energy and how long it will take to heat or cool your house to the new setting when you make a change. More details can be found online at www.nest.com .

It is designed to be installed by Homeowner, but if you would rather not mess with turning the power off and installing the electrical wires, installation is availible from Edens for a nominal charge.

Most thermostats are now digital which is a more precise temperature control, they do not have to be mounted exactly level and are much safer and better for the environment. NO Mercury!

You can also choose programmable or non programmable.  We are starting to see a trend toward the same thermostat that can be programmable or not by sliding a switch on back.

Programmable thermostats can really save you money.  You can drop the temperature in the house during the coldest part of each 24 hour (night time) after you are under the covers and staying warm. Let your house heat up ten degrees less and have it set to turn on thirty minutes before you get out from under the covers and you will never know you had it set back until you see your greatly reduced utility bill.

In the summer time, you can do the same thing during the day if no one is in the house and by doing that you can easily see a overall reduction of 20% or more.
